When I was 10 years old I moved for the first time to Echo Bay, Ontario Canada. My dad was a Pastor at the local Baptist Church. Life was hard in Echo Bay. I attended school there from grade 5- grade 9. During all of those years I got teased by classmates. I got molested by a classmate when I was in grade 8. Those years were really rough. My family then moved to Cambridge, Ontario Canada after I finished up grade 9. I started to attend a school called Rockway Mennonite Collegiate in Kitchener, Ontario Canada. I became suicidal in grade 10 and became bulimic. I lost 20 pounds in a month. Some of my classmates even then teased me but not nearly as much as I had been teased previously. I took all the teasing that I had experienced to heart and became extremely withdrawn. I didn't want to do anything. I hardly had any friends.
I became a Christian when I was 16. I realized how empty my life was without Christ in it. I had a meeting with my Youth Pastor at the time Rocky Dundas who told me basically that I needed to grow up and that I needed God in my life. I went home that day and accepted Him into my life. My life didn't really change though. I was still very depressed. I graduated from grade 12 in 2000. I then went to College to become a Registered Practical Nurse. I didn't even finish one semester of that because a teacher put me down and told me that I wouldn't make a good Nurse. I believed what she told me and dropped out. I then sunk into a very deep depression. I started to cut myself.
When I was 18 I met Christopher Woodworth on mIRC on the Internet. We talked everyday and he encouraged me to see a Doctor to get onto medication for my clinical depression. He knew that I was clinically depressed because I was isolating and my whole attitude was always down. As soon as I started on the medication my cutting stopped immediately. Things started to improve for me although I still continued to struggle. About 4 years ago I moved from Cambridge, Ontario Canada to Port Perry, Ontario.
I took a home study course to become a Medical Office Assistant through Granton Institute of Technology. I graduated from this course with mostly all A's which was a major accomplishment for me. I had never achieved these kinds of grades ever in my whole schooling career. I had a couple jobs while I lived in Port Perry. I worked at McDonalds in Oshawa. I couldn't find a job in my field that would hire me so I decided to head out West to work at a Resort called Bayshore Inn. Christopher and I lost contact because of all of my moves and he moved. I headed out to Alberta in June of last year and came home in September because I was sick. I was having abdominal problems. When I got home I decided to contact Christopher again. I missed him and wanted to see how he was doing.
If I hadn't of called him the day I did I would never have heard from him again because he moved the following day. God opened the door for us to be together. While one phone call turned into phone call after phone call every single day. We were falling in love. Christopher came to Ontario to visit me in February of this year. Christopher and I enjoyed ourselves so much and decided that yes we were really meant to be together. God brought us together. I moved here to Nova Scotia in April. I really enjoy Nova Scotia. I love having the Ocean right in my backyard. We have since been married as of August 18th 20007. He is great to me. He is always there to encourage me when I am feeling down. We are best friends and nothing can happen to change that. I thank God for Christopher and for allowing us to be together.
